Comparable turnover rates
Research done by the government on turnover rates (2005) shows a 12.8% turnover rate for positions of identical work, done by government staffwho receive higher wages than their community collogues, for which the turnover rate is between 40-70%.
1. An immediate government investment to respond to the human resources crisis in the human services sector so that we can provide an increase in wages, benefits and supports that will allow the sector to attract and retain a workforce.
2. A commitment to invest in a three-year social infrastructure plan (2008 - 2011) that will establish Alberta as a world leader in supporting quality of life in strong, healthy and connected communities.
